Woodland Nights is a two-concert Wild Notes series inviting families to experience Kleb Woods through music and seasonal change.
In October, the cello will bring a touch of playful mystery to the woods as darkness falls. In December, its warm voice will reflect the stillness and resilience of the winter season.
Each 30-minute concert will be presented during the evening before dusk. These experiences invite visitors to listen closely and notice how a familiar place changes with the hour and the season.

As daylight fades over Kleb Woods, join Wild Notes for a playful and mysterious evening of solo cello, woodland listening, and a little Halloween mischief.
From Danse macabre and Paint It, Black to Bach and Pēteris Vasks, this family-friendly concert explores how darkness changes the way we hear, imagine, and experience the woods around us.
Costumes welcome! Bring a chair or blanket and settle in for about 30 minutes of music beneath the trees.

Step away from the rush of the holiday season and into the quiet winter woods for an intimate evening of familiar Christmas music on solo cello.
Through beloved carols, gentle storytelling, and moments of listening to the surrounding landscape, Winter Light invites families to slow down, notice the changing season, and experience familiar music in a new setting.
Bring a chair or blanket, bundle up, and join us for a peaceful woodland holiday concert beneath the trees.

Finding the concert:
Both Woodland Nights concerts take place outdoors at Kleb Woods Nature Preserve, 20303 Draper Road, Tomball, Texas 77377.
The Wild Notes performance area is located behind the nature center near the trail. Please allow a few extra minutes to park, gather your chair or blanket, and make your way to the concert location before the performance begins. What to bring:
Please bring a camp chair or blanket for seating. Woodland Nights concerts are acoustic and outdoors, so the natural sounds, weather, and changing light of Kleb Woods are part of the experience. Kleb Woods staff cannot guarantee chairs or seating.
Staying for Astronomy Night?
Each Woodland Nights concert takes place before an Astronomy Night hosted separately by Harris County Precinct 4 at Kleb Woods.
You are welcome to attend the Wild Notes concert whether or not you attend Astronomy Night. If you would like to stay for Astronomy Night after the concert, separate advance registration through Harris County Precinct 4 is required.
Registered Astronomy Night participants will receive additional event information directly from Harris County Precinct 4.
If skies are cloudy, Astronomy Night will still include an indoor presentation and activities, although telescopes will not be set up.
After dark: protecting your night vision
Once it becomes dark after the Wild Notes performance, please do not use flashlights, phone flashlights, or other bright white lights, as they interfere with stargazing and visitors' night vision.
Kleb Woods will provide red lighting to help visitors find their way, and guests are welcome to bring their own red-light flashlight or headlamp. Wild Notes will not be providing red-light flashlights or headlamps.
If you're joining us only for the Wild Notes concert, simply keep this in mind as you make your way back after the performance.
Accessibility
Woodland Nights takes place outdoors in a natural setting. Please dress for the weather and terrain, and plan accordingly for an evening visit to the preserve. There are restrooms in the nature center directly across from the performance area.

At Woodland Nights, the cello offers families a doorway into that deeper attention: to the fading light, the night sky, the character of the season, and the life continuing throughout the woods.
